Morrison Community Hospital Resumes Surgeries, Elective Procedures

SPONSORED

One of the negative repercussions of the pandemic crisis has been the inability for people to undergo necessary surgeries. The need to create space in hospitals for potential Covid-19 patients led to many people postponing elective but necessary surgeries during the past few months. At Morrison Community Hospital, surgeries are being resumed effective immediately to serve all those who have patiently waited for the crisis to begin to subside.

"Our surgeons are allowed to perform surgeries again," explained Mick Welding, Marketing Director for MCH. "If you've been putting off a healthcare appointment of any kind, now is the time to come in for a consultation."

Dr. Osmaan Khawaja, General Surgeon at MCH, is consistently praised by his patients for his excellent bedside manner and for the extra time he takes to explain surgical procedures. "Dr. James Olney is another wonderful surgeon who, in addition to general surgeries, performs colonoscopies and endoscopies here at MCH," added Welding. "It's completely safe to come to the hospital for surgeries; what isn't safe is to postpone procedures that can help our doctors heal or diagnose potentially harmful conditions."

Dr. David Yeager, a Podiatric Surgeon, just celebrated his 2-year anniversary with MCH. "Dr. Yeager performs minimally invasive surgeries for bunions, reducing recovery time," said Welding. "He also offers onsite foot care to residents of area nursing care facilities. Patients love his charismatic personality and the fact that he accepts walk-in patients."

Dr. Mathew Mathew, Urologist, specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of urinary problems in men and women, and in the reproductive system in men. He also performs vasectomies at MCH.

"We're also excited to announce that Dr. Abdul Foad will start with MCH in August," said Welding. "Dr. Foad, an Orthopedic Surgeon, specializes in hip and knee replacements and shoulder surgeries." To make an appointment with any of MCH's surgeons, call 815-772-4003 and press 1 for the Family Care Clinic.
