Three reasons why you should rotate your tires regularly

Rotating your tires a simple and inexpensive way to extend the life of your tires.

Effective tire rotation should be done about every 5,000, or with every other oil change.

Moore Tires recommends changing your tires from one side of the vehicle to the other, and relocating them from front to back – depending on your vehicle and what was done previously.

Here are three important reasons why you should have your tires rotated:

1. Tire rotation preserves the balance handling and help maintain traction.

In any vehicle, the edge of the front tires will wear faster than the edge of the rear tires because this is where all the cornering takes place. The front tires grip the road to propel the vehicle.

Poor traction means you are slipping on the road – especially in inclement weather – and likely getting poor gas mileage.

2. Rotating your tires ensures your tire warranty remains valid.

The tire manufacture expects you to do your part to maintain the product to its standards. You can void your tire’s warranty with improper maintenance. If you do not regularly ensure your tires are properly inflated, rotated and aligned, there is an increased risk your warranty claim will be denied.

3. Properly rotating your tires evens out the tire ware and prolongs the life of your tires.

Many factors can cause unequal tire wear. Strenuous driving routines like stop and go city traffic, road construction or potholes take a toll on your tires.

Moore Tires will rotate your tires in alternating patterns as well as examine the overall quality and safety of your tires. During a tire rotation, the experienced auto mechanic tire professions will examine the tire tread, inspect for effective inflation and tighten up the lug nuts.

To find out when your tires should be rotated, consult your vehicle’s owner’s manual or talk to a Moore Tires specialist!
