In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, all businesses and schools are having to change the way they operate, and new opportunities for learning at every age are happening all over.
One such opportunity is at Dixon Family YMCA, where we offer a unique preschool option for your children to learn and grow in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment.
The preschool programs at the Y help your children invest in learning in their own way and understand the positive power of making smart choices, socializing with peers, and achieving goals. Through a unique combination of learning and playtime, it is the Y’s goal to help your child develop healthy habits and learn teamwork, cooperation, and creative ways to expand their horizons.
A pre-K class is offered at the Y on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, both in the morning and afternoon. A pre-4 class is available on Tuesday and Thursday in the morning only. All class sizes will be smaller as we continue adhering to current health guidelines, and to ensure everyone is safe, healthy, and excited to learn.
For teacher Amanda Frechmann, leading the preschool classes are as rewarding as they are important.
“I haven’t seen any of the kiddos since March,” Frechmann said. “So, I am very excited to see them again and continue to see their growth within themselves and their education.”
As a special feature, all pre-K students will have a graduation ceremony at the end of the school year to celebrate their moving up to Kindergarten.
