The Dixon, Newman, Rock Falls, Amboy, Forreston-Polo, Fulton and Bureau Valley boys and girls track and field teams all competed Friday at the Rock Falls Rocket Invite at Hinders Field. Dixon took home the boys title and Rock Falls girls were runner-up.

Byron edged Oregon 2-1 on Thursday, April 18, 2024 giving the Hawks their first loss of the 2024 season. In a rain-soaked game, Oregon's Deborah Schmid scored in the first half for the Hawks, but the Tigers tied the score at the 32-minute mark of the second half and scored the winning goal with three minutes left in the game. Byron moved to 7-3 on the season while Oregon's record is 8-1.
The Sterling boys tennis team defeated United Township, while the Oregon girls soccer team lost its first game to Byron on Thursday.
Hall built an early lead Wednesday night under the lights at Gartner Park, then held off a late Sterling rally for a 5-3 nonconference win.
