ASHTON – Pegasus Special Riders will have a carry-out pork chop dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 22 at Ralphie and Lulu’s, 812 Main St., in Ashton.
Meals are $10 each and include a pork chop, baked beans, au gratin potatoes and dessert. Pegasus has partnered with Kristie’s Sweet Treats Shop in Ashton and each meal will include a coupon for a free small soft serve ice cream cone.
COVID-19 has greatly impacted the services they offer. Rather than lessons starting in April, they began in mid-August and with half the regular number of students. Both the summer family picnic and the fall “Mane” event fundraisers were cancelled.
Pegasus Special Riders, of Oregon, is a nonprofit organization providing therapeutic horseback riding to northern Illinois residents with physical, mental, and emotional challenges. Services are provided by individuals, clubs, corporations, grants, fundraising and in-kind donations.
