MOUNT CARROLL – Carroll County has no documented active COVID-19 cases among its residents for the second time in the last week, its health department announced today.

The recovery of a person aged 10 to 19, who was reported positive on Saturday, brings the county's total recovered to 11; two residents have died.

Days with no active cases reported are uplifting, but the end likely hasn't happened yet, Deputy County Health Administrator Dawn Holland said.

"We're very pleased, but it could change at any time," she said.

Recovery times differ for every person.

"It just depends on how long it takes for the test results to come back, and how soon prior to getting the tests that they showed symptoms, so everybody's is different," Holland said.

Whiteside, Lee and Ogle counties each reported one more recovery Friday.

Whiteside has 133 cases; 37 are active, 87 people have recovered and nine have died. Lee has 79 cases: 53 active, 26 recoveries and one death.

Ogle, which added one case to its tally Friday, has 193 cases; 60 are active, 133 people have recovered and two have died.

Statistics from the Illinois Department of Public Health are provided for municipalities by ZIP code, if it has more than five cases.

According to that data, there are 65 cases out of 411 tests in Sterling, 63 out of 847 in Dixon, 28 out of 244 in Rock Falls, 122 out of 966 in Rochelle, 21 out of 109 in Fulton, 10 out of 88 in Polo, 10 out of 172 in Oregon, seven out of 129 in Morrison, and seven out of 133 in Mt. Morris.
