ROCKFORD — If you've been yearning for those special Swedish pancakes complete with lingonberries, yearn no longer.
Lifescape and Stockholm Inn of Rockford are partnering for a 1-day fundraiser Thursday in which the restaurant's Scandinavian specialty will be offered curbside. Half of all Swedish pancake sales will be donated to Lifescape, the largest agency in northwestern Illinois serving older adults, families, and caregivers.
"Stockholm Inn is a local favorite and is famous for their hospitality, incredible atmosphere, and their delicious Swedish pancakes!," said Zach Satterlee, fund development/marketing director for Lifescape.
"We are all missing sitting down at Stockholm Inn and being served a delicious stack of their world-famous Swedish pancakes. This is a chance for our community to enjoy a stack ... while supporting local seniors who have been hit the hardest during this COVID-19 pandemic."
Stockholm Inn, 420 Charles St., will be open for curbside pickup and delivery from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; call 815-397-3534 to place an order, or get them delivered through Grubhub, Uber Eats or Doordash.
Based in Rockford, Lifescape provides services in Boone, Carroll, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, Whiteside and Winnebago counties, helping thousands of older adults each year through its Meals on Wheels program, Adult Protective Services, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, Adult Day Program, Health & Wellness Services, Comprehensive Care Coordination, and Advocacy & Assistance programs.
Lifescape will also be accepting monetary donations on site and at www.lifescapeservices.org.
