OREGON – Olivia Lambrigtsen and Megan Buttens played basketball and soccer with each other at Oregon High School, and they’ll stick together playing the same sports in college.
Both seniors recently committed to play their sports at Kishwaukee College in Malta.
Lambrigtsen and Buttens led the Hawks’ basketball team to a 16-16 record, snapping a streak of five consecutive losing seasons. Lambrigtsen averaged 13.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.5 steals per game; Buttens averaged 1.3 assists a game.
On the soccer pitch, they led the Hawks to its first regional championship in program history and a 16-7-1 record last season.
The Kishwaukee Cougars, members of the Arrowhead Conference along with Sauk Valley Community College, finished 6-21 in women’s basketball and 3-10 in women’s soccer this past school year.
