STERLING – Sterling Main Street and area chambers recently created the Sauk Valley T-shirt campaign to raise funds to benefit local businesses.
Joe Schneiderbauer of Live Better Chiropractic approached Sterling Main Street and the Dixon Area Chamber of Commerce and Main Street, Rock Falls Chamber of Commerce, and Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce with an idea to show resilience and strength amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Those talks gave way to the “We Are Stronger Together #SaukValleyStrong” T-shirt campaign that began Monday and will continue to April 7.
Shirts will be printed locally and will be available in youth size small through adult XL for $20, and 2X to 4X are $22.
After T-shirt costs are paid, remaining funds will be used to support small businesses in the Sauk Valley either through small grants or the purchase of gift cards/gift certificates from participating businesses to be given out throughout the community.
“These details are being worked out, but we guarantee that 100% of net proceeds will be reinvested to support our Sauk Valley small businesses,” according to Sterling Main Street.
Shirts will be ready 7 to 10 days after being ordered, and customers will be able to choose a pick up site in Dixon, Sterling or Rock Falls.
Go to sterlingmainstreet.org/saukvalleystrong/ to order a shirt, learn more about the program or become a participating business.
