Truth, justice are not illusions

Regarding the Feb. 13 Paul Wheeler column (“America has always been an active illusion”):

America never was an “illusion,” nor were the founders of our enduring nation, conceived in liberty, puzzled, as he is, by the human heart. Not likely. They held “truth” as self-evident, we’re endowed by our creator God with rights to life, liberty, etc.

Yes, there is a creator God; “ understood by the things he made (Romans 1:20). DNA and reproduction potential never evolve from nonliving particles.

In Congress, assembled founders appealed to the supreme judge of the world, with a firm reliance on protection of divine providence. (Declaration of Independence).

Lincoln said “we highly resolve ... that this nation, under God ... shall not perish from the earth.” Mr. Wheeler said “that isn’t possible.” He calls Trump impeachment “corroborated fact and sober evidence,” insulting the intelligence, integrity, truth, and justice of the Senate. The short story is that the prosecution is guilty of their charges against Trump. Trump isn’t.

Mr. Wheeler believes we all long to feel needed and essential. As adult members of our government by the people, we are “essential” to participate by vigilantly electing candidates we believe will uphold the Constitution and insist they comply or be Constitutionally expelled for disorderly behavior (Article I, Section 5, paragraph 2).

He believes we’ve all made others feel unneeded and nonessential by disagreeing, but it has not been Trump supporters literally assaulting others of opposing political persuasion. So much for patriotic loyal opposition to a president doing what he promised, making America great in “every” way, not “just” a booming economy, enjoyed by “all” ethnic groups, male and female.

Truth and justice are not “illusions,” but House Democrats obviously think so, and practice neither in relentless attempts to destroy duly elected President Trump and anyone associated with his extraordinary administration.
