Matt Klahn reads, delivers 'Abe Lincoln's Hat' to Madison Elementary School in Dixon
You can't judge a book by its cover, but a judge did encourage students to read a book cover to cover. Associate Circuit Judge Matt Klahn, read "Abe Lincoln's Hat" to a group of about 80 fourth grade students Monday morning at Madison Elementary School in Dixon. Klahn visited the school as part of a literacy project through the Illinois Judges Association. The visit started and ended with Klahn answering questions from students about being a judge. Each fourth grade class at Madison received a copy of the book provided by a grant through the Illinois Judges Foundation. Judge Klahn will visit the school again on Friday to read to the rest of the fourth grade classes at the school.
