Kreider partners with Polo business for Truck to Treasure

Thousands of items – all e-commerce returns – to be sold in giant parking lot sale

DIXON – Kreider Services is partnering with a Polo business to create a new event in which truckloads of goods from online returns will be sold at a discount in the nonprofit’s parking lot.

If interest is strong, the first Truck to Treasure event could turn into a regular business opportunity for Kreider and its clients.

Think giant garage sale: The event, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Feb. 29 at 500 Anchor Road in Dixon, will feature items such as gas grills, a smoker, kids bikes, exercise bikes, a gun safe, multiple beds and other furniture, heavy-duty printers, a Bugaboo stroller, car seats, toys and games, an air hockey table, and tools.

“The items are new and the selection of things is really amazing” – everything from kitty litter to putting greens, Kreider Executive Director Jeff Stauter said.

Kreider is partnering with Polo native Dustin Vock, owner of Marco Polo, through which he buys online retail returns at a discount.

Kreider clients will be paid to work the sale, and half of all proceeds will be donated to the organization.

“If it goes well, we will probably do more of these,” Stauter said.

“This should be a really fun, chaotic day, and something new for both Kreider and the Sauk Valley.”

Anything still there at 6 p.m. will be sold on site at auction.

Only credit cards, debit cards or PayPal will be accepted – no cash or checks, and all sales will be final.

Pictures of the larger items will be posted on the Kreider Services Facebook page, as will event updates. Go to the page or call 815-288-6691 for more information.
