DIXON – Claude Hamilton Jr., 92, of Dixon, passed away Friday, January 10, 2020, at home surrounded by his family. He worked for the Northwestern Wire and Steel Mill, then he owned and operated Naomi’s restaurant. After selling the restaurant in 1988; he went on to drive a School Bus for Septruim in Naperville prior to his retirement.

Claude was born August 25, 1927, in Centralia, IL, the son of Claude and Mary Sue (Cochran) Hamilton, Sr.. He married Naomi Evans on December 21, 1951 in Indianapolis. She preceded him on January 30, 1993. Claude married Sharyn Sarver on August 8, 2000, in Dixon. He served in the United States Army as a Sergeant.

Claude is survived by his wife, Sharyn; son, Bill (Dee) Hamilton of Polo; daughter, Barb Miller of IN; daughter-in-law, Dora Hamilton of NC; two stepsons, Randy (Beulaha) Guthrie of Sterling, and Robert (Sharon) Scott of Dixon; sister, Mary Alice Ford of IN; six grandchildren, David (Darcy) Hamilton, Holly (Clint) Davis, Jessica (Geoff) Hamilton, Larry Hamilton, Jr., Stephanie Wappes, Christopher (Sicily) Wappes; six stepgrandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 step-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Larry Hamilton; granddaughter, Kristy Hamilton; and brother, Bill Hamilton.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

A memorial has been established. Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.
