The president is counting on you to help him get re-elected in 2020. You may choose one of two ways. Neither takes much effort.
Your first choice is to limit your news sources to Fox TV, Republican-owned newspapers and conservative talk radio. Any Sinclair-owned radio station will do. Make sure most of the “information” you absorb consists largely of conspiracy theories and the opinions of people who have no proficiency in their field of expertise.
Never listen to news reported by award-winning investigative reporters. Never listen to both sides of a story. Don’t waste your time watching a debate or hearing. They might scare you with information that does not fit with your world view. Never listen to those who have advanced degrees in the fields in which they are sharing information. You just can’t trust those people, and anyway, you know in your gut what is true. You don’t need to bother with any real information.
The second approach is even easier. You just don’t care about the election. You know that the government and all politicians are dishonest, so you don’t believe anything they say. Your president has convinced you the FBI, the CIA, and all other investigative organizations are lying, so you’ve decided that there isn’t any real truth anyway.
Why should you listen to or read the news? It’s boring! Obviously, you don’t vote. After all, Trump was elected by the majority of American voters who didn’t vote in 2016, so not voting is the best way you can help this president. He will be grateful for your lack of effort.
