FULTON – Patient needs and provider wants are motivating CGH Medical Center to open a new clinic in this river town.
The clinic, at 1130 17th St., will open at 8 a.m. Monday. Kimberly Teats-Garrison, a physician assistant formerly with Clinton, Iowa-based Medical Associates, and Lynne Coffey, a family nurse practitioner who grew up in Fulton, will lead a staff of six.
“Kimberly used to practice in Fulton with Medical Associates. Lynne and her husband, R.J., (the head boys basketball coach at Fulton High School) grew up in Fulton, and she wants to give back to the community she grew up with,” CGH Marketing and Media Coordinator Rebecca Green said.
CGH also learned it has many patients there who don’t want to drive to CGH clinics in Mount Carroll or Morrison, Green said. It has remodeled about 2,500 square feet of a former massage therapist office it is leasing on Fulton’s east side, next to dentist William Wilkin’s office. The remodeling started on Sept. 25.
The clinic’s focus will be family practice and ready care treatment, with both walk-ins and appointments taken. Five exam rooms will be available.
It will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with walk-in hours from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. Call 815-589-2005 for appointments and more information.
