Bags for the Brave

ROCK FALLS – Bags for the Brave, a fundraiser for Whiteside County Honor Flight, begins at 11 a.m. Saturday with tourney registration, followed by a veterans ceremony at 11:45 a.m. Bags fly at noon at RB&W Riverfront Park. Labor Day blast in Shannon

SHANNON — Like the American Legion, the Shannon Homecoming Celebration is turning 100, and the village is pulling out all the stops Saturday through Monday with a 5K run, car and truck show, an antique tractor pull, Johnny races featuring decorated toilets, a homecoming parade, a concert by Grass Attack, Gospel music, a 50-50 raffle and a salute to veterans. Opening at Woodlawn Arts Academy

STERLING – The Woodlawn Arts Academy's 2019 Juried Art Exhibit opens Friday with a reception from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the school at 3807 Woodlawn Road.

Rockabilly in Mount Morris

MOUNT MORRIS – The season's last Mount Morris Jamboree features the rockin' Rockabilly Band and D.F.S., in the band shell downtown. Concessions will be available a at 6 p.m., the show runs from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is free; bring a chair or blanket.

Fifth Fridays in Franklin Grove
