DIXON – Local developers are looking to build a new apartment complex in Dixon.
Sterling-based Triple W. Properties, owned by Don Wilson and his son Craig, has entered an agreement with Fieldstone Ltd. to purchase land on Middle Road on which to build two eight-unit apartment buildings with 16 garages in back.
The buildings would be nearly identical to apartments across the street that Triple W. owns at 1145 Middle Road. They would have two bedrooms and one bathroom.
The agreement is contingent on subdividing two parcels into four and rezoning to the R-3 moderate density multiple family category, which the City Council approved earlier this week.
The units likely would rent for $750 to $800 a month. Construction is slated to start this year and take about 5 months.
The Wilsons also have a 5-year agreement for the lot to the east, potentially for another 16 apartments, according to Dixon Plan Commission minutes.
Triple W has built many apartment buildings and houses in the Sauk Valley, including Sterling Manor Apartments.
