DIXON – The Dixon Fire Department has lined up a new deputy chief to start in June.
Fire Chief Tim Shipman said Monday that Capt. Dave Lohse was selected to replace Deputy Chief Mark Callison, who is retiring June 3.
Lohse was hired at the department as a firefighter and paramedic in 1998, was promoted to lieutenant in 2008 and captain a year later. He began as a volunteer firefighter for the Franklin Grove Fire Protection District in 1991.
He’s currently the training officer for the Amboy Fire Protection District and previously served as a field staff instructor for the Illinois Fire Service Institute.
Callison joined the department in 1996, was promoted to lieutenant in 2004 followed by captain in 2005 and deputy chief in 2013.
