The running and bike path along the Hennepin canal got quite a workout Monday afternoon as residents got outside to enjoy the warm temperature that hit 75 degrees. Temperatures cool off the rest of the week with temperatures in the mid-60s today under partly sunny skies. Winter has not fully released its grasp as periods of rain move in Wednesday with a high of 44 and low in the upper 30s. Rain continues on Thursday with temperatures rebounding to a high of 63 before the coldest day of the week arrives. Friday has a high of 46 and a low of 32 with clouds and rain. Fortunately the Sauk Valley should be spared any snow as Accuweather predicts the snow to remain in Wisconsin. Temperatures will be in the upper 50s for the Rock River Development Authority's annual Hennepin Canal cleanup Saturday. Volunteers are needed for the event from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Volunteers will meet in the rear parking lot at Days Inn, 2105 First Ave.; dress for getting wet and dirty. The rain date will be Sunday.
