FULTON – Auction items and other donations are being accepted for a fundraiser to help a Morrison boy and his family with medical costs that will be held at 6 p.m. March 23 at Spring Valley Reformed Church, 10960 Spring Valley Road.
Trinity Men’s Quartet and Spring Valley Talent will provide the entertainment, and there will be live and silent auctions of gift baskets and other items, as well as a bake sale. After the concert, desserts will be served.
Brayden Houzenga, 13, son of Roger and Melissa Houzenga of Morrison, was born without a parathyroid gland, and his body does not retain the calcium needed to stay alive. He was diagnosed last year with calcium deposits in his kidneys and stage 2 chronic kidney failure, and recently with swelling of the kidneys.
As Brayden’s medical costs have increased, the insurance company has decreased the family’s coverage. Donations will be accepted to help with travel to and from Madison, Wisconsin, lodging, and other expenses.
Checks can be made payable to the church, with Brayden Houzenga in the memo line, and mailed o Spring Valley Reformed Church, 10960 Spring Valley Road, Fulton, IL 61252.
Auction donations can be dropped off at the church.
