Joan Padilla represents the kind of values those in the 71st District of Illinois want and need.
Padilla will be accountable to us. She has shown that accountability by attending the Oct. 2 debate hosted by the Illinois chapter of the Alliance for Retired Americans. Incumbent Tony McCombie chose not to attend even though she was given many weeks notice.
Since her election, McCombie has not represented retirees and seniors, or given them the voice they need in Springfield. McCombie has been a staunch, unwavering supporter of Gov. Bruce Rauner’s failed administration regardless of the impact his policies have had on seniors. Rauner proposed $198 million in cuts to Illinois’ Community Care Program that provides vital home health care assistance to seniors. Rauner’s reckless budget would cut the vital program and harm more than 43,000 seniors in Illinois.
As Home of Hope Cancer Wellness Center executive director, Padilla knows firsthand the inequities in Illinois’ available resources. If elected, she will represent seniors and the underserved.
This is why Joan Padilla is the best and only choice for Illinois House District 71. Please join me in giving Padilla the opportunity to serve us by voting for her Nov. 6.
