eEdition FAQs

(Frequently Asked Questions)

What is the eEdition?

The eEdition is an exact digital replica of the print edition, featuring the complete newspaper content, in an easy to read digital format.   The eEdition (Electronic Edition) is laid out just like the print edition, including graphics, photographs and advertisements.

How do I get access to the eEdition?

The eEdition is available on a subscription basis, alone or in conjunction with a subscription to the Telegraph or Daily Gazette.

I am reading the digital edition and I’m looking for a story but I’ve forgotten where I saw it. How can I find it?

There is a search button on the top right of the digital edition. This will initially search the edition that you are on. If you want to search other editions, there is a search option on the search form.

Do I have to download the entire newspaper before I can start reading it?

No. You can start reading the newspaper as soon as you log on to the eEdition.   You can also download individual PDF’s if you choose.

I’ve forgotten my password. What do I do?

Your user name is your email address and your password is your account number. If you forget your password, click the “Forgot Password” link and your password will be emailed to you within one business day or call 815-625-3600 ext. 301.

Who do I contact if I have questions about my subscription?

Please contact our Circulation Customer Service department at 815-625-3600 ext. 301.

When are digital editions made available online?

The Telegraph or Daily Gazette eEdition is created electronically at the same time the print edition is being printed and distributed. The digital edition is available each day of publication, generally around the same time that print editions are being delivered.

What subscription plans are available?

There is a wide range of plan options available for individual users. These options include subscription packages of 13, 26 or 52 weeks.

What do I get when I buy a subscription to the eEdition?

You get all the editorial and photographic material that you’ll find in the printed version of the paper, plus all the advertising (except preprinted inserts). You get all the sections, all the news, all the sport and all the regular features. Sauk Valley Newspapers reserves the right to omit material from the digital edition in the event that a legal liability may result from the electronic distribution of such material.

Can I print the eEdition?

Yes, if you wish to do so. Or you can print just particular stories and/or articles.

Can I sell the material from the online edition?

No, you can't. All material published is subject to the United States copyright laws.

What is the cost of the eEdition alone?

The subscription rate for the eEdition alone is the same as the print edition at carrier delivered prices. To add eEdition to a current print subscription, it’s only 25¢ per week additional. The eEdition is identical to the print edition of the Telegraph and Daily Gazette.
