Located in beautiful downtown Clinton, Iowa, the Felix Adler Children’s Discovery Center offers interactive, hands-on exhibits for children of all ages!

Named after world famous Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Circus clown and Clinton Native Felix Adler, the Discovery Center is a signature attraction in Clinton. The 17,000 square foot building houses more than 20 permanent and traveling interactive exhibits.

The Discovery Center’s mission is to provide a safe and positive environment for families to discover the world by exploring arts, culture and science through interactive and educational exhibits.

From our KAPLA Block Corner to our giant Brio Train Engine, children and adults alike are guaranteed to have a great time! The center has over 10,000 KAPLA blocks – the largest of any museum in Iowa! The Hometown Hospital has everything visitors need to treat their “patients” and the ambulance includes a phone with a direct line to the hospital.

WOW Wednesday takes place each week from 2-4 p.m. for an afternoon for creative and inquisitive school-aged kids. Activities are free with a regular museum admission.

The grocery store is full of opportunities for educational play. Complete with checkout counters, registers and shopping carts, visitors can shop in the bakery, produce and dairy sections while children learn about making healthy food choices and practice their change-making skills!

The Discovery Center is located at 332 8th Ave. in Clinton and is open Wednesdays through Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from 12:30-5 p.m. The center is closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

Admission is $4 for visitors age 2-64, and $3 for visitors age 65 and older. Members and children under 2 are free.

Membership levels range from individual to family as well as grandparent membership, childcare provider membership and a reciprocal family membership.

The Children’s Discovery Center is part of the Association of Children’s Museums. This allows free admission to all ACM member museums – 150 museums and centers across the country!
