Morrison Community Hospital enjoys special partnerships with the community

SPONSORED

“If you want to go quickly, go alone.  If you want to go far, go together”.  This African proverb sums up how partnerships can be a strong force in the development of community-wide support systems that benefit all residents.  With communication, collaboration, and the sharing of resources, strong relationships build strong communities.

“Morrison Community Hospital is committed to meeting and exceeding patients’ needs, and to providing community support and leadership to residents in our hospital district,” said Mick Welding, Marketing Director for MCH.  “Included in that initiative is our policy of providing free services to the community.”  Morrison Community Hospital provides CPR training to city employees, coaches, and Morrison High School students free of charge.  MCH ambulance EMTs also provide medical support for the annual Paint The Town and Harvest Hammer events, the Whiteside County Fair, local sporting events, and Chamber of Commerce events.

“Our Radiology department uses a free voucher system, so that no woman will be denied a mammogram, regardless of her ability to pay,” added Welding.  “We also financially support the Go Red For Women fundraiser, the local Lions Club, and the United Way.”

MCH provides festive Christmas lights for the pocket park to enhance each child’s visit with Santa Claus, and offers leadership in the Morrison Chamber of Commerce, the Morrison Area Development Corporation, and the Morrison Rotary Club.

“The Morrison Community Hospital Foundation initiated and now manages the Morrison Community Garden,” said Welding.  “Hospital employees plant and tend vegetables in five of the plots, and give the vegetables to area residents who need free, healthy food choices.  The foundation also planted twelve fruit trees in French Creek Park to provide complimentary apples, pears, cherries, and peaches for years to come.  We are proud to have been part of this community for the past 85 years!”  For more information about MCH’s community partnerships, please contact:
