WALNUT – Burton R. Mungor, 80, of 324 Meltzer St., Walnut, died Friday, July 3, 2009, at Walnut Manor Nursing Home. He was employed by Walnut Custom Homes for 47 years, retiring in 1994.
DIXON – Xander Charles Aldridge, 5-month-old son of Brian Aldridge and Jessica Shaw, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at KSB Hospital.

MANSFIELD, Ohio – Dr. Robert D. Stitzel, 91, of Mansfield, Ohio, died Saturday, June 29, 2009, in Mansfield, Ohio. He was a dentist in Rockford from 1946 until he retired in 1981.
ROCKFORD – Patrick F. DuBois, 33, of Rockford, died Friday, June 26, 2009, at Rockford Memorial Hospital. He was employed by NCO, Rockford.
HOHENWALD, Tenn. –  Bernard Bruce Cotes, 67, of Hohenwald, Tenn., formerly of Detroit, died Saturday, June 20, 2009, at his home. He was a retired factory worker.
ROCK FALLS – Michael D. Gould, 56, of Rock Falls, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at his home. He was employed by Reliant Fastener, Rock Falls.
POLO – Roderick E. Geary, 92, of Polo, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Polo Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. He owned and operated Geary Roofing for a number of years.
PROPHETSTOWN – Lauren Matthews, 90, of Prophets Riverview Good Samaritan Center, Prophetstown, died Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at the center. He farmed in the Prophetstown area and sold feeder cattle for Prophetstown and Geneseo Cattle Co.

ROCK FALLS – Andy Ray Repass, 57, of Rock Falls, died Saturday, June 27, 2009, at the University of Wisconsin Hospital, Madison, Wis.
ROCKFORD – Dean Allen Gors, 42, of Rockford, formerly of Sterling, died Monday, June 29, 2009, at his home. He was an ordained minister and youth pastor at Faith Tabernacle Church, Rockford.

ROCK FALLS – Debra L. Bushaw, 58, of Rock Falls, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at her home.
OREGON – Ethel M. Rhodes, 97, of Oregon, formerly of Dixon, died Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Oregon Healthcare Center. She was employed by Palmyra Mutual Insurance Co., as a secretary before retiring.
ROCKFORD – Patrick F. DuBois, 33, of Rockford died Friday, June 26, 2009, at Rockford Memorial Hospital. He was employed by NCO, Rockford.
MONROE, Wis. – Robert Graham, 55, of Monroe, Wis., formerly of Sterling, died Sunday, June 28, 2009, in Monroe, Wis. He was employed by the Monroe Times newspaper.
MADISON, Wis. – Betty L. Schrock, 71, of Dixon, died Sunday, June 28, 2009, at University of Wisconsin Hospital, Madison, Wis., after an extended illness. She was employed by BorgWarner, Dixon, for 29 years, retiring in 2002.
AMBOY  – Linda J. Spinelli, 62, of Amboy, died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at KSB Hospital. She was  employed by Woodhaven Lakes, Sublette, as a dispatcher for 9 years.

CHANA – Aaron W. McGrath, 19, of Chana, recently of Morrison, died Sunday, June 28, 2009, from injuries sustained in an auto accident. He was employed by Nestle-Purina, Clinton, Iowa.
STERLING – Joyce A. Fortney, age 76, of Sterling, died Sunday, June 28, 2009, at her home.
DIXON – Kenneth F. Mall, 92, of Dixon, formerly of Ashton, died Sunday, June 28, 2009, at KSB Hospital.
PRINCETON – Dorothy M. Klies, 85, of Princeton, formerly of Sterling, died at 1 a.m. Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Perry Memorial Hospital, Princeton.

WESTLAKE, Ohio – Hazel B. Massey, 96, of Rae Ann Suburban Nursing Home, Westlake, Ohio, died Friday, June 26, 2009, at the nursing home. She and her husband farmed in the Dixon, Lee Center, and Franklin Grove areas, retiring in 1979. In addition, Hazel taught school for 37 years in Dundee, Dixon, and Rochelle.
ROCK FALLS – Cynthia L. Shuman, 52, of Rock Falls, died Saturday, June 27, 2009, at CGH Medical Center.
ROCK FALLS – Crystal J. Graham, 77, of Rock Falls, died suddenly Friday, June 26, 2009, at Genesis East, Davenport, Iowa.

STERLING – Anne R. Ortega, 84, of Sterling, died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at CGH Medical Center.
SARASOTA, Fla. – Memorial service for Richard “Dick” Havener, who died Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, and Barbara “Barb” (Compton), who died Tuesday, March 24, 2009, both of Sarasota, Fla., and formerly of Sterling, will be at 1 p.m. July 4 at Penrose Friends Cemetery, Freeport Road, Sterling. A luncheon will follow the service at the home of Mary and Bill Grant, 343 Rockside Drive, Dixon. Local arrangements were completed by McDonald Funeral Homes.
ROCK FALLS – Dora R. Goff, 87, of Rock Falls, died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Coventry Living Center, Sterling. She was employed by General Electric Co., Morrison, retiring after 30 years.
ROCK FALLS – Russ Lovell, of Rock Falls, died Friday, June 26, 2009, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford, as a result of a cardiac arrest suffered on June 7.
POWHATAN, Ark. – Ernest Leon Vinson, 78, of Powhatan, Ark., died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at Jonesboro, Ark., after a short illness. He was employed by Northwestern Steel and Wire Co., Sterling, before retiring.
LOGANDALE, Nev. – Ann Weidel, 94, while surrounded by loving family, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Mesa View Regional Hospital, Mesquite, Nev.
