MILLEDGEVILLE – Rod A. Herrick of Otter Creek Drive, Milledgeville, passed away at home, Friday morning, Feb. 5, 2010, surrounded by his family and many friends.
DIXON – Agata D. Mazzarisi, 69, of Dixon, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at Dixon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She and her husband owned and operated Mazzarisi’s Pizzeria, Shannon, for 9 years, before her retirement.
MOUNT MORRIS – Harry M. Stahl, 76, lifetime Mount Morris resident, died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at Swedish- American Hospital, surrounded by family and loved ones.

SAN DIEGO – Arthur W. Cullins, 96, of San Diego, formerly of Sterling, passed away Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, in San Diego. He was a painter, starting in his father’s painting and wallpapering business. He retired in 1975.

HOMEWOOD – Helen A. Zuithoff ended her earthly journey of 101 years and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Jan. 29, 2010.
STERLING – Mary Virginia Stevens, 94, of Oregon Health Care Center, formerly of Sterling, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at the center. She was employed at various jobs, including as a rental agent for  John R. Stevens Construction and Rock River Homes, both of Sterling.

Rock Falls officials want to raise the capital recovery cost of the city’s electric rate by one-tenth of a cent, from .6 cents to .7 cents. The city also plans to increase electric rates by 2.5 percent for operational costs, Rock Falls Municipal Electric Director Paul Jakubczak said. The average household will see their rates increase by $1.50 a month.
QUINCY – Cheryl Dawn Burket Hintz, 58, of Quincy, formerly of Dixon, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at her home, after a fearless battle against pancreatic cancer.
DIXON – Roseanna B. Adams, 78, of Dixon, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, at McAllen Medical Center, McAllen, Texas. She was employed by General Electric Co., Morrison, as a machine operator for 25 years, retiring in 1988.
DIXON – Dorothy M. Gaul, 96, of Dixon, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at Dixon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Dixon. She worked as a secretary at various government agencies before retiring.
DIXON – Donald G. Stomberg, 78, of Dixon, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, at KSB Hospital, surrounded by his family.
ROCK FALLS – Daniel L. Schultz, 48, of Rock Falls, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at CGH Medical Center. He was employed by Quebecor, Mount Morris, for 6 years, and Sterling Multi Products Inc., Prophetstown, for 2 years.

PROPHETSTOWN – Donald Seifert, 74, of Prophetstown, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, at his home. He was employed by General Electric Co., Morrison, for 37 years, retiring in 1997.
STERLING – Eugene C. “Gene” Sellstrom, 88, of Sterling, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at Coventry Living Center, Sterling. He was employed by Burlington Northern Railroad for 32 years.
ROCK FALLS – Mahkyli Aziaha Clayton Farmer, 7 ˝ months, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, at Rockford Memorial Hospital.
MINNETONKA, Minn. – Robert H. “Bob” LeVin, 84, of Minnetonka, Minn., formerly of Sublette, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2010, at Freedom Pointe Assisted Living Communities, Minnetonka, Minn.
DIXON – Donald G. Stomberg, 78, of Dixon, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, at KSB Hospital, surrounded by his family.
STERLING – Claude Knox, 81, of Sterling, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, at his home.
AMBOY – Elaine A. Powers, 81, of Amboy, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, at Amboy Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

ALTONA – Robert G. “Bob” Craig, 86, of Altona, died Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at Franklin Grove Nursing Center. He was employed by Burlington Northern Railroad, as a railway postal clerk, from 1949 to 1966, and at other post offices, including Dixon, retiring in 1979.
ROCK FALLS – Donna Rae Hart, 61, of Rock Falls, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, at CGH Medical Center.
