Free concert tonight
STERLING – The Taste of Fiesta Preview, a free concert featuring high-energy Latino music, will be from 7 p.m. to midnight today at the Dairy Mart Plus banquet hall, behind the restaurant at 312 16th Ave.
Chicago band Hurakan will headline; it plays acoustic indigenous percussion music with electronic effects. Rebel X, one of the region's most sought-after DJs, a favorite at colleges and night clubs, also will entertain. Various local musicians also have been invited to perform.

Peoria Avenue block party
DIXON – The second annual Peoria Avenue block party makes its return from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday in the blocked-off 100 block.
Sign-up for the bags tourneys begins at 11 a.m. for the blind draw for partners; play begins at noon. The bring-your-own partner tourney runs from 2 to 5 p.m. The cost to play is $10 per person for the blind draw, $40 per two-person team for the partners tourney, and there will be cash prizes. Funky Munky Wrestling begins at 5 p.m., and the show is good for all ages. Carsick Radio will play at 7:30 p.m. There also will be a DJ from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at First Street Pub, and pizza at Mama Cimino's.

Proud to Wear Pink ride
ROCK FALLS – The sixth annual Team Underwires Proud to Wear Pink! Motorcycle Ride begins with registration from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Workman Harley-Davidson, 1903 First Ave.
All vehicles are welcome; cost is $20 for 16 and older, $5 for kids. The last stop will be at the Days Inn, next door to Workman's.
At 4 p.m., riders and the public are invited to the after-party, featuring live music, Candlelight chicken dinners, 50/50 raffles, live and silent auctions, and the drawing for the grand prizes, a 2013 pink Harley and a Polaris ATV.
Admission is $5; proceeds benefit breast cancer awareness and research.

Whiteside County Fair
MORRISON – The Whiteside County Fair runs through Saturday at the fairgrounds at 201 W. Winfield St. in Morrison. Admission is $15 for the week or $7 daily for adults and $3 for the week or $1 daily for children.

DIXON – The Gardentstock Art & Music Festival, a benefit for Sinnissippi Center’s Youth Gardening Program, runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday at Distinctive Gardens, 2020 Lowell Park Road.
For a minimum $5 donation, you can hear nine bands or musicians of all genres, including special guest Noah Gabriel of Noah’s Arcade. There also is an arts festival from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and local food vendors from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Those attending also can bring their own picnic, coolers, chairs and blanket.
