Fundraiser at Timber Creek on June 14
The fifth annual Swinging for the Arts fundraising golf outing is June 14 at Timber Creek Golf Course in Dixon.

Red Cross benefit June 22 at Shady Oaks
The Err-Sker-Ber golf tournament, a fundraiser for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to help victims of the Oklahoma tornado, is June 22 at Shady Oaks Golf Course in Sublette.

Polo junior tackle selling 50/50 tickets
Tickets are on sale for a 50/50 raffle to benefit Polo junior tackle football.

Evanston withdraws in wake of sexting
The Evanston High School athletic director pulled the baseball team from the playoffs after “inappropriate photos” of girls at the school were distributed among players, officials said.
The team was supposed to play Taft in the first round of playoffs Friday. But the school informed the IHSA that it would forfeit the game – and the playoffs – because there were “not enough players to play the game,” said IHSA assistant executive director Craig Anderson.
