Preparedness group seeks members, help
The Whiteside County Emergency Preparedness Task Force is seeking more members and volunteers to step up in the event of an emergency.
The task force, formed in 2001 in response to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, is made up of local health professionals, law enforcement, educators and community organizations.
Through training and practice drills, the group prepares for emergencies, such as natural disasters, illness outbreaks and terrorist attacks.
To join the task force or become a volunteer during a disaster, or for more information, call Marcia at the Whiteside County Health Department at 815-626-2230.
