Smith reaches 1,000 points
Faith Christian senior guard Amanda Smith eclipsed 1,000 points for her career Monday while helping the Falcons to a 49-22 win over Fulton in Grand Detour.
Smith had a game-high 18 points. The Falcons (17-2, 10-0 NICC) have a game today against East Moline Christian before playing the NICC tournament this weekend in Galena. Faith will be the top seed at the tournament.
Tressa Schuler had 18 points, and Sarah Smith had eight points.
Morrison 36, Milledgeville 28: The Fillies outscored the Missiles 13-4 in the final quarter in a non-conference win in Morrison.
Three Fillies scored in the game, led by Lakin Goodman's 18 points. Chelsea Eads added 12 points, and Ashley Greul had six points for Morrison (5-19).
Courtney Swalve paced the Missiles (5-18) with 11 points. Kayleigh Leddy added six.
Aquin 84, AFC 71: The Raiders led 56-53 at the end of three quarters before the NUIC East-leading Bulldogs scored 31 points in the fourth to pull out a win in Freeport.
Ermir Ramadani made seven 3-pointers and scored a game-high 27 points for AFC (7-12, 1-7). Troy Mairs had 18 points, and Bret Gittleson added 12.
Andrew Martin led Aquin (16-1, 8-0) with 21 points.
Fulton Unity 48, Faith Christian 39: The flu slowed two of the Falcons starters in a home loss to the Knights.
Isaac Weber scored 17 points and had 13 rebounds, but was slowed by the illness. Fellow starter Blake Hudson was hindered even more by the flu. Aaron Clardie added 10 points for Faith (13-7, 4-4 NICC).
Nolan Willoughby scored 17 points for Unity.
