Amboy to raise
The Amboy girls basketball program will host Cancer Support and Awareness Night on Thursday when the Clippers host Fulton.
The program will accept donations and sell T-shirts to raise funds for four causes: Coaches vs. Cancer, Relay for Life, Free Throws for the Fight and Free Throws for Heroes.

Marcos knock off Clippers in Polo
Alina Llanas paced a balanced attack with 13 points as Polo knocked off visiting Amboy 37-33 in Polo.
Also for the Marcos (6-15), Aleetra Roberts had 10 points, 11 rebounds and three steals, while Keeley Meyer added nine points.
Autumn Smith led Amboy (12-10) with 14 points.
Riley Stephens won by pin at 132 and 138 pounds to lead AFC to wins over Mendota (34-24) and Ottawa Marquette (36-24) in Ashton.
There were just two other contested bouts, won by the Raiders’ Anthony Hahn (120) and Jake Chapman (152).
Maloofs agree to sell Kings franchise
The league will review the sale agreement of the Sacramento Kings to an investor group that reportedly intends to relocate the franchise to Seattle.
While the NBA confirmed that the Maloof brothers have reached an agreement with a group headed by Christopher Hansen, there was no indication from the league concerning multiple reports from Sunday that said the new ownership group would move the franchise to Seattle.
Blood clot ends Varejao’s season
The Cleveland Cavaliers revealed Monday that center Anderson Varejao recently developed a blood clot in his right lung, a condition that will sideline the standout rebounder for the remainder of the season.
Varejao developed the clot Thursday and was admitted to the Cleveland Clinic, where the nine-year pro is currently being treated with blood thinners.
Blackhawks acquire goalie Karlsson
The Chicago Blackhawks added depth to their goaltending Monday when they acquired Henrik Karlsson from the Calgary Flames for a seventh-round pick in the 2013 NHL Draft.
Karlsson, who has appeared in 26 regular-season game with the Flames over parts of the last two seasons, was assigned to the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs. The 29-year-old posted a 5-9-8 record with a 2.79 goals-against average and .905 save percentage during that span.
