OREGON – A former City Council member pleaded guilty Monday to misdemeanor theft, while a felony charge of computer tampering was dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

James Tegtmeyer, 48, now of Green Bay, Wis., will be sentenced March 8; he faces up to a year in jail and up to a $2,500 fine.

Tegtmeyer, then an ATM serviceman, was accused of stealing $380 from an ATM at Johnson Oil Shell station downtown in December 2011.

He served on the council from 2003 to 2007 and ran unsuccessfully for mayor in 2007 and 2011.
