FRANKLIN GROVE – A Franklin Grove teenager was injured Sunday night when his Jeep Cherokee hit a utility pole in the 1600 block of Old Mill Road about a mile west of Daysville Road.
Cody Stahl, 17, was in critical condition Monday at Rockford Memorial Hospital.
Lee County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene at 5:18 p.m.
According to deputies:
The Jeep was eastbound on Old Mill Road, left the road on a curve in the 1600 block, hit the pole and a wire fence and came to rest in a grass field next to a downed live power line. Stahl was not wearing a seat belt, but his air bag did deploy.
He was taken to KSB Hospital in Dixon then to Rockford.
The accident remains under investigation. No tickets were issued.
