Men accused of selling heroin

BYRON – Two Rockford men were being held in Ogle County Jail on no bond Tuesday, accused of selling heroin to an informant.
Andre T. Hawkins, 33, and Harvey L. Smith, 50, were arrested Friday and charged with delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a church.
The two were involved in the sale of 15 bags of heroin, Sheriff Michael Harn said in a news release.
More arrests are pending in a similar but unrelated case, the sheriff said.
