Candlelight vigil Saturday night in Sterling
STERLING – Friends and family of Natalie Buck, the 6-year-old Rock Falls girl who underwent a heart transplant late last month, are holding a candlelight vigil at 9 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot at Wahl Clipper.
The Rev. Michael Freeman will speak at the event, which is being held to say thank you to and pray for the donor family, Natalie’s aunt, Kay Lucas, said in an email.
Those attending are asked to bring their own candles and to wear one of the T-shirts being sold to help defray the family’s medical expenses.
The shirts are $15 and are available in sizes youth small to adult 4XL, in yellow (Natalie’s favorite color), lime green and orange. They are available in Fulton at Bittersweet Salon & Boutique and D&M Embroidery, and in Sterling at Wahl Clipper and Walmart.
Natalie is the daughter of Bob and Christy Buck. She has a brother, Jacob, who turns 5 on Wednesday.
Bob works at Wahl; Christy works at the Sterling Walmart and is an aide at Dillon Elementary School in Rock Falls.
