ROCK FALLS – A Chicago man was sentenced Thursday to 8 years in prison for selling crack cocaine from a Rock Falls house.
Michael A. Fox, 30, pleaded guilty to delivery of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a park, delivery of between 1 and 15 grams of cocaine, and possession of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school zone.
Three other drug charges were dropped in exchange for his plea, and he was given credit for 292 days served in Whiteside County Jail.
Acting on a tip, the Illinois State Police Blackhawk Area Task Force and other area law enforcement agencies searched the home at 305 Sixth Ave., where Fox was staying, on Sept. 8.
They found 7.2 grams of crack cocaine, a digital scale and plastic bags.
