Power lines, trees, roads, sidewalks and even statues were covered in a coating of ice due to storms in the Sauk Valley Monday and Tuesday. They did make for picture perfect photo opportunities throughout the Sauk Valley. Shutterbugs who failed to take snaps of the ice-covered landscape missed their chance. Temperatures today are expected to climb to 40 degrees and partly sunny skies which is plenty warm enough to melt the ice. The warm-up will not last. Temperatures will drop to the single digits tonight and will remain in the teens for Friday. Saturday and Sunday will see temperatures in the mid 20s with another chance of snow.
