The cast and crew from the Polo Area Community Theatre have a story to tell about mouse warriors, dancing fairies and Christmas magic, and they’ll tell it this weekend when they pull the curtain back on “The Story of the Nutcracker,” a musical play that puts its own twist on the classic ballet. In the play, Fritz and Marie are visited by Uncle Drosselmeyer, who brings them three dolls for Christmas. When Marie falls asleep with the dolls, she’s transported to an enchanted dreamland. Performances are 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Polo Town Hall, 117 N. Franklin Ave. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $7 for ages 12 and under. They’re available at polotheatre.org, Polo Library, Polo-Shannon Bank and Polo Sub Stop. You can find out more about the cast and crew of the show on the Polo Area Community Theatre's Facebook page.
