A heat wave that started Saturday kept pouring on the high temps and humidity Monday, reaching a 3-day high of 93 degrees – that’s 13 degrees above the average high for this time of year. When it gets that hot, the splash pad at Vaile Park in Dixon gets a lot of foot traffic, and Monday was no exception, when kids kept their cool at the park. The mercury should head down to more familiar territory for this time of year beginning Tuesday, when highs will hit 80, with scattered thunderstorms in the forecast. Wednesday’s high should be about the same, with a break in the rain before it returns Thursday.
