ROCK FALLS – Ryan Zschiesche grew up a devout fan of Hulkamania, the “Monday Night Wars,” and the Attitude Era.
Now, that love of professional wrestling has led him to become involved with it on a local level.
For 6 years, the Prophetstown native did more than just move around in the squared circle – he displayed a the kind of showmanship that’s led to his current shtick of “Zeke Zschiesche, the Zen of Wrestling.”
In March 2017, Zschiesche opened his own wrestling school, Zen of Wrestling Academy, based on his character.
His classroom, or dojo, is at his mother’s dance studio, Z & She’s Dance, at 218 First Ave. in downtown Rock Falls, where the studio’s wood floor, windows and dancing are traded for a wrestling ring with body slams and leg locks.
