Our Letters Policy: We welcome letters on public issues. Letters are to be no more than 300 words (election-related letters are limited to 200 words), include the author's full name and indicate town of residence. A phone number must be included for verification purposes. The number will not be published.

Note: The deadline to submit election-related letters is noon Tuesday, April 2.

All letters are subject to editing for length and clarity.

Wise saw collapse in support

Last week, Sterling Alderwoman Amy Viering attended her last meeting as a city official. She gave the usual praise one hears at such departures. But one compliment stuck out. At the end of her speech, she turned to City Administrator Scott Shumard and said, "You're awesome."
