Raise Them Right, and They'll Do Right on Father's Day

Daughter Ashley, the journalism/poly sci major who now is a congressional aide on Capitol Hill, sent Mose a special Father's Day card this past week.

“For You, Dad, from Your Daughter,” said the heading across the top of the store-bought Carlton Cards greeting.

And the first sentence of the following text said:

“It seems like only yesterday that I was just a child, waiting for you to come home, anxious to tell you about my day. ...”

Ashley, of course, had crossed out the word “anxious,” and above it she had printed “eager.”
