STERLING – Sauk Valley Physical Therapy likely will open by the end of this month at 4204 E. Lincolnway, Suite D, in the new Sterling Commons shopping center.
The clinic, Byron-based Orthopedic and Sports Therapy Institute’s seventh, will be the first to open in the new building, which is intended to house up to four businesses, said Meghan Willinski, director of marketing.
Physical therapist Donnie Early, 31, of Grand Detour, will provide pre- and post-surgical rehabilitation. The clinic will offer work injury prevention programs to businesses, and treat those who have suffered workplace injuries.
Sauk Valley Physical Therapy will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with some off-hours appointments available, Willinski said.

has tamales, jams
STERLING – A Sterling company is delivering tamales, salsas and jams.
Mark’s Best opened about 3 weeks ago in the Kitchen Incubator of Northwest Illinois, 1741 Industrial Drive.
Owner Mark Earl, 47, of Sterling, who has worked in the food business for about 20 years, uses recipes that have been handed down in his family for generations, he said.

Window-covering business opens
STERLING – Kustom Kovers Inc. opened Monday.
Owner Adam Olson, 42, opened the store in the same building as his insurance office, 10 Reins St., which is north of Miller Road off Locust Street.
The store sells and installs custom-ordered window covers such as blinds, roller shades, Roman shades, and wood woven blinds.The store has a showroom and employees will make house calls to measure, Olson said.

Ryan’s building back on the market
STERLING – The building that formerly housed Ryan’s Family Steakhouse is being cleaned up and readied to go back on the market within the next couple of weeks, ReMax Sauk Valley agent Tim McCaslin said.
Buffet Inc., Ryan’s parent company, owns the building at 3900 E. Lincolnway.
Manny’s Pizza, which has locations in Savanna and Fulton, put a down payment on the building in July 2011, but Kathy Kingery, daughter of Manny’s owner Manny Castro, said Tuesday that Manny’s Pizza will not move to Sterling because “there’s more issues with the building.”
The pizzeria is not looking at any other buildings in the Sterling area, she said.
Noble Toy Co. opens online store
MORRISON – Noble Toy Co., founded by Morrison native Chris Huizenga, fell short of its Oct. 25 fundraising goal on kickstarter.com. The company received $10,417 in pledges from 91 potential backers, far short of $92,000.

KSB Corporate Health moves 2 blocks west
DIXON — KSB Hospital’s Corporate Health Services Department has moved from Commerce Towers to the lower level at Town Square Centre, 102 S. Hennepin Ave.
Its former space on the third floor of Commerce Towers, 215 E. First St., is being utilized for a larger orthopedics department of the KSB Medical Group.
