Lucille Martin-Roseling

MANLIUS – Lucille E. Martin-Roseling, 93, of Manlius, died Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at Walnut Manor Nursing Home, Walnut. She was employed by Manlius School from 1946 to 1978.
  Lucille was born Oct. 9, 1916, in Canby, Minn., the daughter of James F. and Ellen (Whipple) Hansen. She was a 1935 graduate of Tampico High School.

Lucille married Vernon C. Martin on March 28, 1936, in Buda. He preceded her in death on Sept. 7, 1972. She married Amiel Roseling on Sept. 1, 1973, in Buda. He preceded her in death in 1993.

Lucille was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manlius, and Eastern Star.

Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy (George Smith) Martin of Belvidere; two sons, Duane (Sandra) Martin of Manlius and Robert (Janet) Martin of Vail, Ariz.; one daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann Martin of Sterling; one sister, Aldine Swan of Eureka, Calif.; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by one son, James “Bill” Martin; two sisters, Donna Callihan and Doris VerDick; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manlius, with Pastor Martin Lipes officiating.

Burial will be at Manlius Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Arrangements were completed by Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Manlius.

Memorials have been established to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manlius, Manlius Rescue Squad, Manlius Cemetery, and Walnut Manor, Walnut.
