DIXON – Robert “Robbie” Feiden Neary, 22, of Dixon, died Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2009, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Robbie was born Jan. 3, 1987, in Aurora, the son of Kristina Anne Neary. He served in the Army as an Airborne Army Ranger with the 173rd Airborne Brigade 13 Fox Trot. Robbie was based in Italy and completed a 15-month tour in Afghanistan. He was awarded the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Non Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (second award), Nato Medal, Combat Action Badge, and Parachutist Badge. Robbie also served in the U.S. National Guard. He was a member of the Calvary Lighthouse Church, Rochelle.

Survivors include two mothers, Mary Ann Feiden of Dixon and Kristina Neary of Plano; eight brothers, Brian Feiden and Andrew (Kayleigh) Feiden, both of Dixon, James (April) Feiden of Davis Junction, Stephen and Nathanael Feiden of Rockford, Clinton J. Sharp of Montgomery, Shane Garcia of Plano, and Kyle Montgomery of Oswego; six sisters, Annie (Solomon) Baddoo of Rockford, Patricia (Jason) Goodwin of Rochelle, Alexis Pearson and Samantha Pearson, both of Plano, Kassie Jo Morris of St. Paul, Va., and Gabrielle Garcia of Plano; his maternal grandmother, Nancy Neary of Plano; his paternal grandmother, Rose Secor of Arizona; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, James B. Feiden Sr.; one sister, Rebekah Feiden; and his maternal grandparents, Orville and Marion Mallette.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Calvary Lighthouse Church, Rochelle, with the Rev. James Horvath, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be at Lawn Ridge Cemetery, Rochelle. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., with the family present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home, Dixon.

A memorial has been established.
