Josh Vos rushed 24 times for 163 yards and two touchdowns to lead Morrison to a 14-7 victory over Orion in the quarterfinals of the Class 2A playoffs Saturday at Bud Cole Field.

The Mustangs (12-0) struck first on a 32-yard score from Vos with 4 minutes, 41 seconds remaining in the first quarter.

Orion (10-2) knotted the score at 7-7 on a 6-yard pass from James Matson to Jared Simler at the 7:46 mark of the third quarter.

The game-winner turned out to a 42-yard run from Vos with 4:48 remaining in the fourth quarter. Interceptions by Morrison defensive backs Will Bird and Kyle Janssen in the closing minutes preserved the victory.

Orion racked up 342 yards of total offense, compared to 222 for Morrison. Matson was 13-for-25 for 233 yards. His favorite target was Tyler DeDecker, who had four catches for 98 yards.

Morrison will host Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley, a 32-20 winner over Annawan-Wethersfield, in next week's semifinal round.
