Resignation shuffles Rock Falls Chamber officers

ROCK FALLS – The resignation of Terry Shouse from the Rock Falls Chamber Board of Directors has resulted in changes to the board’s executive committee and the appointment of one person to the board of directors.

Shouse served as general manager of Rock Falls Country Market, which has closed.

He was vice chairman of the board of directors and therefore a member of the executive committee and in line to become the board chairman in 2010.

Shouse joined the chamber’s board of directors 2 years ago and was also serving as the Ambassador Club’s vice chairman.

The board approved the appointment of Suzy Perino to fill Shouse’s term for the remainder of the year. That puts Perino in line to become the chamber’s board chairman in 2010.

With her appointment to vice chairwoman, that left a vacancy in her position as board treasurer.

The board then approved the appointment of Jeff Bright to fill the treasurer’s position.

In other action, the board approved the appointment of Robbin Blackert to fill Shouse’s board seat.

Perino is market president of Sauk Valley Bank – Rock Falls banking center. She has more than 28 years banking experience which includes management, business and retail banking, and marketing.

Bright is owner of Jeff Bright RV Center, Rock Falls, and has been in the business since 2002.

Blackert has been a legislative assistant to state Rep. Jerry Mitchell for 6 years. Prior to working for Mitchell. She was a legal assistant at the law office of Ward, Murray, Pace & Johnson P.C. in Sterling.
