DIXON – Free H1N1 vaccines for priority groups will be given 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday and again starting at 9 a.m. Friday at the Lee County Health Department, 309 S. Galena Ave., Suite 100.

The department is out of seasonal flu shots, however, so clinics that were to have been held next Monday and Nov. 24 have been canceled. They will be rescheduled when more vaccine becomes available.

Those eligible for the H1N1 vaccine are pregnant women; people age 6 months through 24; caregivers for children younger than 6 months; health care workers with direct patient care; and people 25 through 64 who have health conditions associated with higher risk of medical complications from influenza, such as asthma.

The clinics are not for school children, who will get the vaccine at the school they attend. Parents should check with their school for dates and times.

For more information, call 815-284-3371.
