ROCK FALLS – A husband and wife were in Whiteside County Jail Monday after a search of their Rock Falls home Friday turned up cocaine, crack pipes and cash, according to the Blackhawk Area Task Force.

Noe Cantu, 47, is charged with possession of a controlled substance, punishable by 1 to 3 years in prison, and possession of a controlled substance, punishable by 4 to 15 years.
His bond was set at $250,000.

Additional felony charges are expected to be filed this week, said Master Sgt. Bob Seas, commander of the task force.

Davia Cantu, 39, is charged with possession of a controlled substance. She is being held on  $100,000 bond.

Neither had appeared in court as of Monday.

Seas said the investigation into the Cantus started about 5 months ago, after neighbors made numerous complaints about drug sales taking place at the house.

Just before 5 p.m. Friday, agents raided the home at 1115 W. First St.

They found 5 grams of cocaine valued of $500, plastic bags, crack pipes and $451 in cash. The couple also had a small amount of cocaine on them when they were searched, Seas said.

The Cantus are considered “street dealers,” Seas said.

The investigation is ongoing, and no other arrests are expected now, he said.

Noe Cantu was sentenced to 6 years in prison for selling cocaine in 1991.

Four years later, he was sentenced to 10 years for selling cocaine and 5 years for obstructing justice.
