1 dead after roads flood in IllinoisBy The Associated PressMOUNT PULASKI, Ill. (AP) — Authorities say a 97-year-old man has died after his vehicle became caught in floodwaters in central Illinois. Logan County Emergency Management Agency director Dan Fulscher said Sunday that dive crews found the man Saturday floating in between 4 and 5 feet of water. He was near his vehicle, about 200 yards from the road. Fulscher says the man was taken via helicopter to a Springfield hospital, where he died. Sangamon County coroner Susan Boone identified him as Cecil McCain of Mount Pulaski. She says his cause of death was drowning. The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning through Monday afternoon for Logan County. Weather service meteorologist Kirk Huettl (HIT-tehl) in Lincoln says heavy rains have caused water-covered roads in central and western Illinois. Comments
